EACH MODULE HAS THE FOLLOWING:

  • Uses the IIBA BABOK v3 Guide and the IIBA Product Guide v1. These guides provide a foundation of how to engage business analysis and methods whether based on project, product, agile, lean, and others.
  • Includes techniques that are part of both foundational business analysis (project, BABOK v3 Guide)  and human-centered business analysis (product, agile based methods, lean, design thinking [problem solving]). We include eleven (11) methods when showing how business analysis is part of everything. Business analysis is at its simplest is problem analysis, problem solving, decision, communication and relationship management / collaboration. 
  • Includes several exercises that covers the competencies and skills covered in the six (6) knowledge areas (KA),  thirty (30) tasks and 122 elements. Some will be used in the session, others will be available online in a shared platform for course participants, and also for studying for the IIBA certification exams.
  • Comes with a reading list of articles, books, and multimedia references plus online learning courses.
  • Has ample documentation so you can reference the materials and links moving forward.


NINE MODULES

1.  Business Analysis : Start Right! Start Informed! - What is business analysis in 2024 and how the IIBA BABOK v3 is a good guide for all methods in project and product. 

2.  Engagements & Methods : Prepare Yourself and Showup Ready - How to connect Business Analysis to any method - Stakeholder analysis and Stakeholder management - Decision in project, Decision in agile, and Decision in all initiatives - The evolved and emerging world of Information and Data Governance - How Performance Improvement and Improving Processes has changed how Business Analysis shows up.

3.  Information : Elicitation, Hypothesis, Ideation, Research, Collaboration - The BABOK and Product Guide walks you through the process of identifying and gathering information and building the models to understand and communicate, by yourself and with your team.

4.  Problem Analysis, Discovery, Solution Evaluation - This is the first of three knowledge area (KA) level analysis identified in the BABOK. We will discuss the concepts of solution evaluation, problem analysis, project discovery, product discovery, product strategy discovery.

5.  Strategy Analysis - This is the second of three knowledge area (KA) level analysis identified in the BABOK. This analysis is strategy using As-Is and To-Be states, business architecture, along with risk analysis and change analysis / management as we deep dive into an important analysis.

6.  Requirements Analysis / Analysis With Models - This is the third of three knowledge area (KA) level analysis identified in the BABOK. Requirement analysis process is a subset of business analysis. This analysis explains and uses modeling.

7A.  Management and Business Analysis - Much of what is involved in discovery, solving, and delivering has management components. There are many management roles across many job titles. Business analysis is no exception.

7B.  Decision and Business Analysis - We use decision in so many ways in our practices. Human-centered methodologies has expanded decision, codifying some of the many times and places all initiatives use decisions to form the final deliverable. This module includes collaboration, conflict management, influence and leadership.

8.  Communication & Collaboration – We focus here specifically on the two areas that have joined analysis, problem solving, and decision-making and expanded what are now fundamental components of business analysis. We address communication and collaboration from organizational, enterprise, and individual perspectives.

9.  BONUS SESSION - Business Relationship Management- The evolving nature of communication, relationships, the need for cohesion and clarity in the organization and its initiatives, plus the need to reign in staggering costs, has made qualified business analysis practitioners great candidates for the roles between business and IT. A business analysis practitioners' competency and skills in communication, collaboration, clarity, clarity, and focus, help deliver strategic alignment, and value-driven outcomes. We will address this role using the IIBA BABOK v3, the Product Guide v1, and other sources.


    Requirements & What To Bring

    • This course is online using various apps which you will be made comfortable with should you not be familiar with these digital tools. 
    • Upon full completion you will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
    • Upon full completion you will receive an IIBA Toronto Certificate of Completion.

    Payment Policy

    Workshop fees must be paid upon registration in the workshop prior to attending. Pricing, registration terms, and conditions are subject to change without notice.

    For credit card payments, charges will be in the currency of the country where the class takes place and will be converted by the credit card company. IIBA Toronto Chapter is not responsible for fluctuations due to exchange rates. Taxes will be applied to the payment where applicable.

    IIBA Toronto Chapter reserves the right to make changes to the workshop program described or to cancel the workshop at any time without notice or liability. The Chapter's sole liability will be limited to the refund of registration fees paid in respect of the workshop and the Chapter shall not be responsible for any incidental or consequential loss arising whatsoever. The Chapter will endeavor to give enrollees as much advance notice as possible of any change to the workshop program or registrant’s enrollment.

    Registration Fee

    The registration fee covers workshop materials only. Refreshments and lunch is not included and is the responsibility of the registrant. Parking is not included.

    Refund Policy

    Cancellations will be allowed prior to 10 days of the workshop start date and a full refund will be issued. Cancellations will not be permitted within 10 days of the workshop start date; however, substitutions will be permitted. It is up to the registrant to find and arrange a substitute. The Chapter will process the substitution by changing the registrant name but is not responsible for any financial transactions between the registrants.

    No refunds will be issued within 10 days of the workshop start date. If a registrant does not attend the workshop and has not given adequate notification, it will result in full forfeiture of the registration fee.
