Intro & Benefit

There’s more to user experience than just beautiful websites and apps. In fact, if that’s your starting point, you might be missing out on opportunities to really engage with your target audience. Understanding their goals, motivations, and attitudes, and involving them in the design process, will go a long way.

This session will provide an introduction to a broad range of concepts and practices in user-centered design, but with a lens that will help to relate them back to business analysis activities.

Specifically, we’ll cover:

  • Demystifying “user experience”
  • Understanding people
  • UX practices and deliverables
  • Touchpoints with business analysis

Finally, as a group, we’ll explore the intersections between UX and BA work in practice. So...

Bring your stories! How have UX practices and people impacted BA work at your organization?

About the Speaker

Dan Lopes

Consultant

User Experience / Business Analysis

With more than 20 years of full-time BA, UX, and product roles in the corporate world, plus a graduate degree in UX, Dan is now working freelance in the UX-BA space with digital agencies and their clients.

Dan Lopes' focus is now on executing solid user-centered design through user research, ideation/concept design, prototyping, and user testing. But since good UX practice must also consider the needs of the organization, I can draw on an extensive background to provide additional rigour when dealing with business objectives, stakeholders, processes, rules, and other sources of complexity, as required.
